IKEBANA

Ikebana is a popular Japanese art form. It can be compared to art forms such as painting and the making of sculptures. Anyone can take part in Ikebana, however, like any other art, there are those that have an exceptional talent for it, while others simply do it for fun.

To begin making an Ikebana, you need flowers. Essentially, that is what Ikebana is: a collection of flowers and other like-minded materials. You can combine things such as moss, branches from trees, leaves from trees, and grass to your Ikebana. For your work, you might only use one type of flower or material. There are no real guidelines for you to make your work, because it is just like any other art. You would not restrict an artist, hence this is not restricted to the person arranging them, either.

A religious component comes with Ikebana. The best pieces come from a silent and thought-provoking session. Though this does not have to be the case, it is thought by many to provide a higher power feel while creating Ikebana. The flowers protrude a peaceful sense that transcends through the artwork itself, hence why people consider it religious.
